Carrefour Giga Mall Brand

After the success of Carrefour Dubai the brand has also moved into Pakistan.The Carrefour located on the lower ground floor of the Giga Mall, and it is the only one in the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi. Carrefour Islamabad offers a very wide variety of brands to choose from.  It has everything from groceries to the latest in high end electronics. It has brought the concept of the Hypermarket to the capital and has been hugely popular with the residents of Islamabad and Rawalpindi. It is one of the most visited places in the mall.

It stands as a rival to Walmart which does not have a presence in Pakistan and is in fact the most popular and largest hypermarket brand of its kind anywhere in Pakistan. The concept has only recently taken off with the growing popularity of shopping malls all over the country.

Carrefour Pakistan does have branches in Lahore and Karachi however Giga Mall has the only one in Islamabad. Carrefour UAE is frequented by the large Pakistani population there. This has helped to spread the popularity of the brand in Pakistan aswell.   Previously it used to by Hyperstar now Carrefour has taken it over. Carrefour has a total of 7 locations all over Pakistan. These include 3 in Lahore, 2 in Karachi and one each in Faisalabad and Islamabad. The  concept of the Hypermarket has been pioneered by Hyperstar which Carrefour has taken over and taken the entire idea to a whole new level.

The French company has been in business for more than half of a century and has a massive presence with more 12,300 self-service shops. These include a total 1528 hypermarkets as of the end of the year 2016. Carrefour has a presence in over 30 countries across five continents including Europe, North and South America, Asia and the giant continent of Africa. The word Carrefour means “crossroads” in French.
